What a special way to remember ‪#‎IWD2016‬ and the exciting buildup to ‪#‎TheVeiqiaProject‬, opening in central ‪#‎Auckland‬ next Tuesday!!

Joana Monolagi is one of the five Fijian women artists showing new work in the first The Veiqia Project exhibition. Today she was marked by Julia Mage’au Gray, whose work researching and reviving Papua New Guinea tattoo practice from Central Province, has inspired and informed much of our journey of rediscovering Fijian female tattoo.

On Saturday at Auckland’s Pasifika Festival, Julia will be doing more tattoo in the Fiji Village and also at ST PAUL St Gallery on Saturday 26 March to mark the closing of the exhibition.

More info coming soon – watch this space!
